Easwaran studied at Umes Chandra College in Kolkata. His father, Ranganathan Parameshwaran Easwaran, who is a chartered accountant, trained him in cricket during his early years and even set up the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in 2008.

When he was 10, Abhimanyu moved to Kolkata to focus on his cricket career and stayed with his coach, Nirmal Sengupta, while training.

Abhimanyu Easwaran played his first Twenty20 match for Bengal on January 31, 2017, during the 2016–17 Inter-State Twenty-20 Tournament. In October 2018, he was selected for India A’s squad in the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy.

In August 2019, Abhimanyu Easwaran was picked for the India Red team in the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy. Later, in October 2019, he was included in India A’s squad for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy.

In May 2021, he was named as one of the standby players for India’s Test squad for the ICC World Test Championship final and the Test series in England.

In October 2024, he was selected as part of the 18-member Indian squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Easwaran played his first big match for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy against Uttar Pradesh on December 14, 2013.
