Career Journey Of Brigitte Macron

In the 1980s, Brigitte, then Brigitte Auzière, taught literature at Collège Lucie-Berger in Strasbourg. In the 1990s, she began teaching French and Latin at Lycée la Providence, a Jesuit high school in Amiens.

From 2007 to 2015, she taught at Lycée Saint-Louis de Gonzague in Paris, which is one of the most prestigious private schools in France. Brigitte met Emmanuel Macron at the after-school drama club at Lycée la Providence when he was 15.

She led the theater club, and her daughter Laurence, who was in the same class as Emmanuel, was also involved. Their relationship has sparked controversy because of the 25-year age difference and because Emmanuel was a minor at the time.

Macron has described their love as something they kept hidden and misunderstood before it became accepted. In 1989, Brigitte, then Brigitte Auzière, ran for a seat on the Truchtersheim city council but didn’t win.

It was her only attempt at running for office. She later proposed creating an official “first lady” title for the spouse of the French president, with their own staff, office, and budget for their activities.

Macron’s fashion at international events has frequently been commented on. The Financial Times even compared her style to that of an “Es&e*x girl.”
