Matthew Livelsberger Biography – Driver of Cybertruck in Las Vegas

The driver of the Tesla Cybertruck that expl*oded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas has been named as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger from Colorado Springs.

Seven other people were injured in the expl*osion. Matthew Livelsberger had traveled from Colorado to Las Vegas between December 28 and January 1.

Matthew Livelsberger was born in 1987 in Colorado Springs, USA. He was 37 years old when he died on 1st January 2025. Reports say that Matthew had multiple addresses in Colorado Springs.

Matthew was a U.S. Army Green Beret operations sergeant. He spent most of his time at Fort Carson in Colorado and in Germany. At the time of his death, he was on approved leave from Germany.

Livelsberger worked as a special forces operation manager in the U.S. Army starting in 2006. Two months before his death, he switched to a job as a remote and autonomous systems manager, according to his LinkedIn profile.

A Facebook profile for Sara Livelsberger, who is thought to be Matthew Livelsberger’s wife, is being shared on social media. The profile mentions Matthew many times, calling him her husband.

This seems to be the same Matthew Livelsberger who is linked to a LinkedIn account also circulating on social media. Sara Livelsberger’s Facebook account hasn’t been updated since 2016, so it’s unclear if she is still married to or connected with Matthew.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill from the Las Vegas police said at a press conference on Thursday that a burned body was found inside the vehicle. However, they were able to identify the person using military ID, credit cards, and a passport found at the scene.

Livelsberger rented the Cybertruck in Denver on Saturday and charged it at Tesla stations in Colorado and New Mexico. The vehicle was last tracked in Kingman, Arizona, around 5:33 a.m. on Wednesday and was seen in Las Vegas around 7:29 a.m.

Surveillance footage showed him pulling into the Trump Hotel valet area, and 17 seconds later, the explosion occurred.
