Basketball Career:- 

Suzannah Bates represented New Zealand in women’s basketball at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She played professionally for the Christchurch Sirens in the Australian Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) from 2007 to 2008, starting 24 games.

Later, she played for the Otago Gold Rush in 2009 and the Logan Thunder in the 2009/10 season. In 2021, Bates became an assistant coach for the Otago Nuggets in the New Zealand NBL.

Cricket Career:- 

On June 8, 2018, Suzie Bates scored her tenth century in Women’s One Day Internationals (WODIs), making 151 runs against Ireland.

Later, on June 20, 2018, she scored her first century in Women’s T20 International (WT20I) cricket during a match against South Africa in the 2018 England Women’s Tri-Nation Series.

In the same series, she became the second woman ever, after Jenny Gunn, to play 100 WT20I matches. In August 2018, Suzie received a central contract from New Zealand Cricket after tours to Ireland and England.

In September 2018, she stepped down as the captain of New Zealand, with Amy Satterthwaite taking over. Later, in October 2018, Bates was named in New Zealand’s squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 in the West Indies.

In November 2018, Suzie was selected for the Adelaide Strikers’ squad for the 2018–19 Women’s Big Bash League season. In September 2024, she was named in the New Zealand squad for the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Bates was also included in New Zealand’s squad for their ODI tour to India in October 2024.

Suzie’s highest score in an ODI and in international cricket is 168 runs, which she made against Pakistan on March 19, 2009, during the 2009 Women’s Cricket World Cup in Sydney. This was her second ODI century.
