Nina Louise Warhurst was born on October 28, 1980, in Sale, Greater Manchester, and later moved to Salford during her teenage years.
She attended All Saints RC Primary School and Loreto Grammar School in Altrincham, where she earned nine GCSEs. Nina then studied A-levels in English Literature, History, and Politics at St Bede’s College in Manchester.

Nina Warhurst started her career in acting with roles in the Christmas special of Casualty in 1997, Heartbeat in 1998, and Butterfly Collectors in 1999. She then moved into broadcasting, working for Russia Today in Moscow.
In April 2007, Nina joined Channel M, a regional television channel from Guardian Media Group, where she presented Channel M Breakfast. When the station had budget cuts, she moved to present Channel M Today in 2009.
In 2010, she became a presenter for BBC East Midlands’ regional news program East Midlands Today. Later that year, she joined BBC North West to present BBC North West Tonight and Sunday Politics North West. In June 2014, she covered the 2014 FIFA World Cup for BBC Sport and in September 2016, she was appointed political editor for BBC North West.

Nina Warhurst is married to Ed Fraser, a caterer. The couple met in Tisno, Croatia, in 2013 and got married on March 21, 2014. They live in Chorlton, Manchester, and have three children: two sons, born in 2016 and 2018, and a daughter born in July 2023.
In March 2023, Nina and her two sisters, Amy and Mel, appeared on BBC Breakfast to talk about their father, Chris, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2022.
