Sweety Sehrawat, born on March 15, 1992, in Delhi, is an IPS officer from the Bihar cadre. She completed her B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Delhi Technological University and initially worked as a design engineer. After her father, a Delhi Police head constable passed away in a road accident in 2013, Sweety decided to fulfill his dream of becoming an IPS officer.
In 2019, she cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination with an All India Rank (AIR) of 187. Sweety started her career as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Aurangabad, Bihar, and was promoted to Patna Central SP in 2024.
Recently, Sweety led the police team managing protests in Patna over the 70th BPSC exam irregularities. Despite intense protests, she effectively handled the situation. Her journey from engineer to IPS officer has inspired many.
